About
In the bustling music scene of Lansing, Michigan, Shout Sister Shout was formed in 2006. Comprised of Rachael Davis, Dominic John Davis, Joshua Davis, Joe Wilson, and Andy Wilson, this musical ensemble had its roots in the original members of the Michigan band Steppin' In It. United by a mutual love for pop music from the early 20th century, including icons like Nat King Cole, Louis Jordan, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah
Vaughan, they released their only studio album, "Hit That Jive," in 2008 under MC Records. Shout Sister Shout's distinctive sound is characterized by upright bass, hollow body electric guitar, straight steel guitar, horns that evoke a bygone era, and harmonica riffs that infuse their music with a soulful edge. This melodic canvas is crowned by the celestial vocals of Rachael Davis, whose powerful voice adds a touch of history to their
performances, captivating listeners and bringing their songs to life in a way that is truly enchanting.
After journeying down separate paths, the members of Shout Sister Shout are reuniting this summer for the first time in over a decade to commemorate the 21th season of the Mackinac Arts Council. Their reunion promises to be a harmonious celebration of their shared passion for timeless melodies and vintage charm. As they come together once more, their music will again weave a nostalgic tapestry that transcends time and
captivates audiences.
